Full Description

The objective of this report was to present the findings from an evaluation of past studies of the water resources of the Board and to present a conceptual framework for meeting future water needs of the Birmingham area for the next 50 years. A good water resource plan provides transmission capacity to deliver the source water to treatment facilities and raw water customers, adequate treatment capacity, a demand management plan, a drought water management plan, a water quality monitoring program, and a public participation program. The most important aspect of the water resource plan is that it is flexible. This dynamic program will be capable of responding to changes to the Board's system and changing customer needs. Includes tables, figure.
