Full Description
The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) allows civil and, in some cases, criminal enforcement actions to be taken against water suppliers who fail to meet the requirements of drinking water regulations. The 1996 SDWA amendments expanded the scope of existing enforcement provisions, clarified enforcement in nonprimacy states, increased civil penalties, and added an incentive for consolidation.
