Full Description

The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC) is a 140 mgd drinking water treatment facility located in Wanaque, New Jersey, that serves nearly 2 million consumers. In 1992, the Lead and Copper Rule prompted the Commission to examine corrosion control treatment practices in the complex distribution system in an effort to determine the optimum corrosion treatment. This paper discusses some of the corrosion control measures that were considered. In particular, the potential use of blended phosphates is discussed as well as the mixing of two corrosion inhibitors in the distribution system.
