Full Description

The Partnership for Safe Water (PSW) was developed to encourage US water suppliers to survey their utilities to identify areas that will enhance the water system's ability to prevent entry of Cryptosporidium, Giardia and other microbial contaminants into treated water and to voluntarily implement those actions that are appropriate for the system. The City of Ann Arbor, Michigan, participated in the PSW which enabled the City's water treatment plant staff to identify both strengths and weaknesses in efforts to maintain or improve water quality. A plant self assessment and a visit from the PSW's Program Effectiveness Assessment Committee resulted in the identification of many items that needed improvement. This paper `discusses four of the highest priority projects.
