Full Description
Because of the complexity of water systems, the wide variety of problems that can be addressed by models and the cumulative effect of approximations, simplification and errors, it is very doubtful that a model can be considered calibrated for all purposes. Instead, a model should be judged in terms of how well it can support decision making for specific problems. Sensitivity analysis of decisions with respect to model input is the preferred way to judge if the model is adequately calibrated for the intended purpose. The standard for model calibration is, "Can a responsible individual base decisions on the results of the model?" The extent to which the above question can be answered in the affirmative indicates the extent to which the model is calibrated. Product Details
