Pressure filters (inline filtration) are commonly used to economically filter surface water, especially in small systems. This paper describes the steps necessary to receive acceptance under the Surface Water Treatment Rule as alternative filtration technology. The experiences of the City of Jackson in California are presented as a case study. The results of particle count testing are presented.
