Many water and wastewater utilities are discovering the usefulness of a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in assisting with the planning, management, and administrative procedures required for the effective maintenance of their facilities. The first decision a utility must make is whether a CMMS is cost effective. Then it must choose the CMMS that best suits its needs. Since more than 300 CMMSs are available and more are on the drawing boards, selecting the "best" CMMS can be a challenging task.
