Buildings exceeding the plant static pressure commonly experience negative pressure on large thermal loops. This was the case for four of the tallest buildings at Texas AM University. University personnel studied three solutions and chose to install a pressure sustaining valve on return pipe at the buildings where the elevation is higher than that of the system static pressure.
