Evaporative cooling is the oldest form of cooling known but that is not the most surprising or important thing abouthis energy-efficient cooling method. What is surprising and important are the questions and remarks often made by engineers and consultants when the use of evaporative coolers is suggested. Some of these are, "What is an evaporative cooler?" "How does it work?" "They might be satisfactory in Arizona, but they wonât work here, the humidity is too high"; "1 wouldnât install one because there would be water running down the walls and across the floor"; "1 would like to use them but they would cause rusting of metal parts."
