A review was conducted of three different cogeneration proposals for third-party financing arrangements submitted to a Texas university (TWU), and the economics of these were compared the case where the university itself would finance the project (hereafter called the "base case"). This was intended to facilitate the decision making process of TWU regarding cogeneration. The dollar figures in the proposals were adjusted to a common datum so that the savings and net present values (NPV) could be directly compared. Although each proposal had presented overall dollar figures, significant differences lay in what each proposer was actually offering and what the potential benefits to the university would be.
