An expression for the Gibbs free energy of LiBr/H2O solutions is presented. The Gibbs free energy expression is a versatile new tool for absorption system analysis, providing an accurate and convenient means for determining the thermodynamic properties of this widely used absorption pare Values for particular thermodynamic properties of interest are derived from the Gibbs free energy expression by differentiation and/or combination of terms. The accuracy of the derived properties is demonstrated by comparison with data in the literature. The method of property calculation presented in this paper provides several benefits over previous approaches for obtaining thermodynamic properties of LiBr/H2O. The Gibbs free energy expression is accurate over a wider range of temperatures, pressures and composition than other data compilations. The expression also provides significantly more flexibility in calculating thermo dynamic properties of interest than previous approaches.
