A model is presented that allows the thermal simulation on a minicomputer of a building and its heating system during a heating season. The model, which takes into account the variable thermal exchanges, is used to study heating systems made up of a boiler and a heat pump. An example shows how it is used to study the effects of heating equipment characteristics on the annual energetic performances of the system and how the model may be used in an economic optimization.
